Electrode Ignition

product description

Sparkplug electrodes or electrode ignition are used for the ignition of gaseous fuel in gas combustion equipment, which works on the principle of ignition by high-voltage flash over. The spark electrode and ionisation probe are usually positioned together in the combustion chamber of the gas combustion equipment e.g. gas fired boilers, instantaneous water heaters, gas ranges, cookers, and heaters.

Each burner of a gas cooking or heating appliances has an igniter operated by the control knob. As electricity flows into the igniter, a small spark flares. While the igniter is sparking, a small flow of gas is coming into the burner. As soon as the electrical spark ignites the gas, the burner lights.

Spark electrodes can be used as ionisation probes and vice versa, however their layout should always be respected, i.e. the ignition electrode must be out of the flame and only the ionisation electrode should be placed in the flame.

Spark electrodes is simple but an important component of a cooking or heating system that allows ignition of a burner in cooking hobs, freestanding gas hobs, ovens, and gas heaters. To be a reliable product, the following factors have been considered in our production lines:

  1. Accurate choice of raw material: the insulator is made of OXAL ceramics with high AL2O3 content, characteristically this material has high mechanical strength and resistance to thermal and electrical load (electric strength of the insulator is 18KV).
  2. The central electrode ionise is made of a special fire-proof material (Kanthal AL), and Aisi 304 or 314 for sparkplug electrodes, which are resistant to high temperatures and electro-mechanical corrosion.
  3. The insulation material can also be FEP, MFA, PFA, PTFE, FSV according to the temperature and installation.
  4. The wire is covered with glass fibre and silicon to prevent any high temperature problems and scratches during assembly. Teflon cable, glass fibre cable types are used.
  5. Resistance to thermal shocks; Electrical resistance; Mechanical resistance.
  6. Different terminals can be used according to customer requirements.
  7. Constant Monitoring of manufacturing process
  8. Close collaboration with customers: we at PFC provide any kind of components and parts to its partners products & services in gas cooker appliances sector through great service, customer oriented approach and effective process succeeding.

Instantaneous ignition from first spark is the result of a perfect product
